MOVING TO THREE SERVICES
Beginning Sunday, April 8th we will be offering three worship services on Sunday mornings: 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Why? Because of facility constraints.
While attendance varies week to week, consistently during the 10:15 service it can be difficult to find a seat in the sanctuary. By offering three services our hope is that there will always be seats available for you and for the guests you invite. For now, we will hold three worship services during the months of April-June and will then evaluate if any changes need to be made for the summer or fall.
HOW CAN YOU HELP OUT?
As we move to three services, would you consider serving in one of our Sunday morning ministries as an usher, greeter or children’s volunteer? If you are not already serving, participating in one of these areas is both a great way to care for your church family and an opportunity to get to know them.
NEW CAMPUS UPDATE
While going to three services helps to address our ministry needs on Sunday mornings, we also have facility constraints during the week. Whether it is using every square inch of our facilities for AWANA and Vacation Bible School or trying to accommodate more than one ministry at a time, we are always looking for more room. In addition to this, as we look to the future, Valley Center is going to experience some significant growth over the next few years. With these things in mind, our long-term solution remains building and moving to our new church campus. Over the years we have been taking steps to reach this goal.
We are blessed to own 20 acres debt-free at the corner of Fruitvale and Cole Grade Rd.
In 2009 we completed an 8-year process with the County that granted us permission to build our church on that site.
Over the last four years, we have fulfilled all the additional requirements given to us by the County to prepare the site for construction.
Last year we completed rough grading on the property and now everything is ready to begin construction.
Based on this, many of you have asked, “When will we begin construction?” We are currently in the first stage of final design with our contractor and architect. In this phase, we are finalizing the layout and type of buildings and their costs. In the next months, as we complete the scope and design, the total cost of the project will be known. We will share that information with you as soon as we have it. What we can tell you today is that because of your faithful giving over the years, there is $1.5 million in the building fund. That, along with the sale of our current church property, should give us approximately $3 million in assets to be used for our new campus.
Many continue to give regularly to the building fund and we are most grateful. We invite you to join us in praying that God will provide the direction and the resources to finish the design process and begin construction within the next 12 months. Will you join us in doing so?
We are grateful for where God has us as a church family and we look forward to where he will take us. To God be the glory.
