Luke and Ashley Sullivan Updates

Recently, our church family prayed with, began providing missionary financial support for, and helped send off Luke and Ashley Sullivan to the mission field in Guatemala as Luke began his work as a missionary aviation pilot at the beginning of June.

As many of you know, on Thursday, June 27, Luke was involved in a plane accident. It is with deeply saddened hearts we share the news of the passing of Luke Sullivan, leaving behind his pregnant wife, Ashley, and three daughters. Luke passed away on Friday, June 28.

Please continue to pray for Ashley, their daughters (Brooklyn, Nicole, Isabella, and another daughter on the way), Ashley’s family, as well as Luke’s parents (Charlie and Wendy) and siblings, who have been longtime active members of Valley Center Community Church.

Ashley Sullivan’s Facebook post on Friday, June 28:

Luke, I loved you every day I knew you. Even the day I thought you were cute but I needed to stay away because you had a girlfriend already.

You were my best friend from the moment we met and even after we broke up. All I wanted to do was marry you.

We had four hard and blissful years. Thank you for the growing pains. For the love. The sacrifice and care. Thank you for our beautiful daughters and this one on the way. I didn’t get a chance to talk to you about my name ideas post before you went to be with Jesus.

All you ever wanted was to hear His voice audibly. I know He took you before your body your body gave up. I know you’re with our two babies dancing around with them. You’re probably talking with Papa and excited that you’ll finally get to talk to your sweet grandma soon.

We never got to talk one more time. Thank you for coming and saying goodbye to us one last time. Idk why you did other than God. We’ll always remember you and love you.

My first love. I’ll see you in heaven one day.
