About Us

The Future of VCCC . . .  where we are headed

Today we celebrate God’s faithfulness. We acknowledge His leading and His provision in all aspects of our life and ministry. In the past few years God has allowed us to:
  • Welcome many new families into the church
  • See many come to saving faith in Jesus Christ
  • Add to our pastoral staff
  • Acquire and fully pay for a beautiful 20-acre property
  • Expand our missions outreach
As we plan, we are careful not to presume upon The Lord’s favor or His timing (James 4:13- 16; Acts 18:21). We believe that God is leading us into a future that includes changes in 4 areas.

Spiritual Growth – Spiritual growth occurs as Christ’s disciples hear, study and become doers of God’s Word. In addition to our Bible-centered preaching we intend to increase the availability of age-graded (pre-school through adult) classes on understanding and applying God’s Word. This will include Sunday morning programs, weekday studies, home study groups, special lectures and conferences and retreats.

Increased Ministry to One Another – Our commitment to love one another should be evident in all that we do. We intend to increase our care to the people of VCCC through three key ministries that were begun in 2006. First, our home fellowship ministry (Connections) is being expanded through leadership training. Second, we began a Deacons Ministry devoted to caring for the practical needs of those in our congregation and our community. Finally, we are increasing our Counseling Ministry resources. We have hired new pastoral staff and will continue training them and others in the principles and practice of Biblical Counseling.

Increased Missions Involvement – Each year we endeavor to increase our support of existing and new missionary partners. As this continues we have begun training and sending new missionary teams. We are especially excited as we now have ongoing opportunities for short- and longer-term missions projects and because we are seeing the enthusiastic involvement by people of all ages.

Church Growth – We are primarily interested in seeing our church grow in Christ as each believer matures in the understanding and application of biblical truth. We also recognize that there are many unchurched people in the rapidly growing Valley Center/North County area. So we expect continued increase in church involvement over time. With our Sunday morning use of the Maxine Theatre/VCHS, we are taking steps to accommodate this growth. This will increase our ministry effectiveness through age-graded Sunday School classes and a two-service worship format. And the facility provides us flexibility for additional growth while we complete the designs, approvals and fundraising for the proposed church expansion onto our Cole Grade Road property.

We are prayerfully seeking the approval of our Major Use Permit application by the end of 2006. At the same time we are continuing with Phase 1 design (all site work + fellowship center and classrooms) and construction planning. We have contracted with “Building God’s Way,” a specialty design/construction ministry that focuses on cost-effective church facilities. If the Lord allows, we foresee the possibility of groundbreaking as early as 2008. When completed, this will allow for continued growth of existing ministries, the addition of a weekday preschool and room for further expansion.

We give thanks for our 120-year history. We acknowledge how far God has led us. And we invite you to join us as we faithfully serve Him into the future, one day at a time.
